How to Properly Cap a Window

Many of the properties we manage are within the city of Philadelphia. As such, we encounter many older buildings. A common is we see with them is improperly capped windows allowing water to infiltrate or deteriorate the building. When capping windows, care should be taken to ensure that the capping is directing water away from the building, as opposed to holding water or directing it in the building. Caulk should be used as an extra precaution, and not depended on to keep the water out.
